Some stories begin with a business plan. Ours began with a little cat named Marigold.
She never asked for much. Just a little love. In return, she gave us a home that always felt warmer because she was in it.
A QUIET TURNING POINT
Then something happened that quietly changed everything.
Like many people trying to cope with grief, I looked for something that could keep my mind occupied. I immersed myself in learning digital marketing, Google Ads, SEO, website design and everything I could get my hands on. It gave me structure, but it didn’t fill the space that Marigold had left behind. During this time, I visited Shantidaan in Gorai, a community where specially abled individuals handcraft candles to support themselves and earn a living.
I watched them patiently pour wax, prepare fragrances, finish each candle by hand and smile with genuine pride in their work. There was no rush. No production line. Just people creating something beautiful with care.
That experience stayed with me long after I left. I didn’t just see handmade candles. I saw healing. I saw purpose. I saw people creating light for others while building their own future.
That’s how Candles by Marigold came to life.
I spent time understanding the craft alongside them—how wax behaves, why fragrance matters, how a wood wick burns, and why every small detail changes the experience of lighting a candle. Those lessons shaped far more than a product. They shaped the values behind this brand.
Not as another luxury candle company. Not because the world needed another scented candle. But because I wanted to create something that carried the same feeling Marigold gave us every single day: comfort, stillness, home.
Every candle we pour is handcrafted in small batches using premium soy wax, high-quality fragrance oils, and thoughtfully selected materials that create a clean, slow burn. From our wood wick candles to our signature luxury scented candles, every collection is designed around an emotion rather than simply a fragrance.
